Time will come that you will want to change your bed or your bed frame. This applies especially if you are no longer comfortable with your bed. You can create your own wooden bed frame so that you can save money.
Here are simple steps you may follow to come up with a good frame for your bed.
Wooden Headboards For Beds
1. Choose the size of mattress that you will be using. This will guide you on what size of the frame you will be creating. It is highly recommended to use standard size of mattresses. The purpose of this is that you can easily find standard size mattress on market.
2. Choose the lumber that you will use. Lumbers should be straight and of good quality. If you are recycling, see to it that there are no cracks on your lumbers.
3. Cut four lumbers for the frame of your bed. Make sure that you had measured them carefully to avoid wastage of lumber.
4. Connect the four lumbers to create a frame. You will need here a hammer and nails. To ensure a perfect shape of your frame, you can put down the lumber on the floor. If they are on the floor, the shape can be easily noticed.
5. Cut the slats. Fit them afterwards. Four slats are needed. Before attaching the slats, make sure the frame is in square shape. You can use speed bore to make your work easier.
6. Cut a sheet of plywood. Put it in top of the slats. You do not need to attach it with the slats. Just lay it in top of them.
7. Cut lumber for the legs of your bed. Use four pieces of 4x4 for the legs. Now, attach it to the frame. It should not support the slat only. It should also support the frame that you had made.
8. You are done now with the frame. Now, make your headboard. It can be a simple piece of wood. Attach it on one end of the frame. You can make designs on your headboard.
You do not need a carpenter to build you a bed. You can do it your own. Just follow these steps and you can come up with your own wooden bed frame.
